Pete Evangelo Laskaris – August 21, 1934 – July 18, 2016
Pete Evangelo Laskaris, 81, husband of Nancy Elisavet Laskaris, passed away peacefully Monday, July 18, 2016. Born in Xirokambi, Laconia, Greece, he was the son of the late Evangelo and Vasiliki (Bobotis) Laskaris.
Pete came to the United States in 1955 and settled in Greenville, SC where he remained until May of 2002, when he and Nancy relocated to the Chicago area to be closer to their son and daughter in-law. Pete was devoted to his family and was most happy when he was cooking and working in the garden. He will be sorely missed and never forgotten.
Pete is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Nancy Elisavit Laskaris; a son and daughter in-law, Evan Pete and Vicki Dakogiannis Laskaris and his twin grandchildren, Peter and Anna Laskaris. His grandchildren were very dear to to him and they in turn loved spending time with Papou Pete. Also surviving are his sister and niece, Litsa (Laskaris) and Maria Karakitsou, of Sparta, Greece.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church, Palatine, IL with the viewing beginning at 10:30 AM
Visitation Friday 10:30 AM until Services 11:00 AM at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church 133 S. Roselle Road, Palatine, IL
